With Light In His Wings
I
I give all my worship unto thee o Jehovah,
All praise, worship, glory and honour to my Lord
My Creator who moulded me in His image and gave me breath
He created a garden designed to my specifications,
Who made me and knew me
He set me above all things in my garden of joy
He delighted in me,
I, in my innocence rejoiced in my Father's presence
Days of innocent delight in my Father's bosom
Peace, security and wonderful things that I took for granted,
Innocence un-beleaguered
Ease of peaceful obedience
For there was and that was all
It had a purpose,
Whose end most delightful, sustained
For there was only what was given unto me
To delight in,
In my Father's presence, at peace
Then, in aftermath of disobedience woeful intrusions of destruction
Peace was a memory bitter in its sweet recollections fast fading -
Long was I a bundle of sadness
Trampled into arid grounds of bitterness
By unworthy feet of gruesome lusus naturae
These hardy grounds cracked and dried up after ravaging floods
Had washed away lush garden of perfection
In waves of rage and undeserved destruction of wanton disobedience
Lawless fiends of brutish cowardice running amok
Run on my back
Digging up these fields of favour, now in disfavour,
In fields of joy despoiled -
II
Joy in loving Lord who came back
To His own, with light in His wings
He, who descended down to these forsaken landscapes,
Places long denied of peace beseeching for restoration
Our Lord revived ancient waterways of revitalisation
From ancient times prepared for this season of renewal
Ancient springs refreshing strength sealed in torrid aridity
When mighty was wrath of Divine anger
At moment in creation when saddened Father
Closed grand, gracious favour's outpouring of delight
Sealing springs of refreshment away from fallen man,
Letting loose depletion of locustery avidity
Creation's face wracked and lined with furrows of anguish-
Yet, Father, you couldn’t remain far from your handiwork
In you O Jehovah, your creation lives, in your absence all pine and dry up
When great God in sorrow and anger turned His face of glorious light away
Sudden darkness blanketed man, fallen on hard grounds, hearts hardened
Man's anguish filled Heaven's pathways of praise till ordained time
When grace was Lamb of God come in grace and mercy
With healing rains in His hands of compassion
Pouring upon uplifted faces emaciated from lack of spiritual nourishment-
He poured upon these weak limbs renewing spiritual food
Feeding them life’s nourishing replenishment
Restoring wellbeing after years of spiritual famine
He replenished with outpourings of showers of blessing
Enabling by Holy Spirit
Sent forth to feed hungry masses long in waiting -
