Frederick Kwesi Great Agboletey
My bubble burst
My gas bubble burst,
Lives lived in thinly insulated worlds
Of made believe happiness-
The other world, outside my sphere,
In my bubble it is perfect
Imperfection exists in that outside world-
In you came, our sphere rolled along
Excessive joy, happiness and laughter
Apart from that world with its sadness and bitterness-
II
Yesterday, joy took a leave
Happiness abandoned ship
When you pricked my bubble, our bubble of joy-
Our bubble exploded into thin air
With enough noise and power to blow me apart
Yet, not enough to change the world-
So here I am, in their world
Broken hearted, helpless,
Bitterness and sadness, aimless and weak-
You took away all the joy you brought
And added all that I had
Now there is nothing left-
Just the emptiness of pain and rejection
Just another shattered life,
Our bubble of joy is emptied out-
