Glorious presence
I
The works of God are an exclamation of His
awesome glory
Glory that is made evident in greater dimensional
expression
When light of life that redeems, gave man
rebirth
In precious blood of caring Lamb of God
Come to shepherd home obedient sheep of
his pasture,
Lamb of God who in shepherding his flock
protect them from ravaging beasts
Beasts defanged in one swoop of light cleaving
a path into darkness
Light of life before which scrolling darkness
reveals God's manifest grace
That life’s giver in giving his life
has in dying brought life to those living in darkness
In resurrection glory He indemnified eternal
life as a given for obedient faithful
That sinful nature of man in receiving salvation
by grace is reborn into glorious acclamation of Heaven's task fulfilled through Messianic grace amongst men -
II
God has fulfilled His promise to return
to Man
At appointed time a way back to Himself
He enabled
When rusted hinges of ancient gates cracked
and burst asunder,
When sharp strands of piercing light
Broke through ancient accretions’
Of man's dismal failure, his long descent
into limbo,
At first sight of salvation’s presence
Awakened souls long in expectation amassed
Fluttering like jaded butterflies to light
of hope
Gathering to receive light of life
Around saviour long expected-
III
Wonder of creation’s might in sublime
expression
Gentle Lamb of God almighty
Before whom powers without substance crumble
Grace in power beyond compare
Reaching healing hands to dark pits of human
despair
Touching humanity in need of virtue
These groaning masses long huddled in despair
Taking their fist glimpse of glorious presence
In seeing, breathing relief long promised,
fulfilled -
IV
Humanity giving vent to first cry of joy,
Since agonising moaning of Adam’s
anguishing groans
Their joy, resounding song, of
Praises of thanksgiving sustained in refrain
Sung by mankind for eternity from eternity,
Behold these dead hearts long lost
Quickened to life in very presence of life’s
source
He, the Christ who stood with mighty, loving
Father
Bringing into being things that hitherto
were not,
Creation’s Lord has come to redeem
His own
These lost souls hitherto sunk in deepest
darkness
Of deception’s gruelling toil of meaningless
ends,
Groaning under severest of oppression –
V
Lost, fragile humanity
Whose wails darkens earth
Have struck a new chord of joy
In glorious presence of Heaven’s magnificence
When Jesus, lover of men came to redeem
Lost, dishevelled and beseeching sheep,
Life’s light, shining, scrolls away
darkness’ wearisome deception
As rusted voices long silent found first
song of creation
Giving praise in light of redemption’s
Lord;
‘Jehovah be praised! Hallelujah! Hosanna!’
