Lost and Wondering
When man was lost and wondering
From whence cometh his help? –
When man was a dried out piece of broken wood
Light and easily borne on ill winds
Tossed hither and thither by raging sandstorms
In deserts of afflictions
Ripped into and flung against unfeeling sand heaps of shifting shapes
To who did man call out for help? –
When parched throats whose thirst for Godly satisfaction
Could not be slacked by salt waters in deserts of spiritual deprivation
Sought alleviation
To whom did they turn
Even as their torn nails scratched scraggy grounds unyielding?-
In deep grooves on stony desert floors,
Their lamentations are inscribed in despair of afflictions impositions
When consolation was not forthcoming
Not till bitter lessons were learnt,
Till obedience, an essence, was impressed
To whom did their cries rise to? –
Beneath blank desert skies, sun burning inconsolably
Yet glory was amiss when troubled hearts raged in their deepest need –
Till times of fulfilment when grace made its presence felt
How great was man’s appreciation in need fulfilled
Prayers answered and salvation enabled
Heaven folded back and earth renewed
When Blood of new covenant forever established in Messiah come into His heritage
Proclaiming grace’s task accomplished in Himself -
