LONELINESS
Loneliness haunts me relentlessly,
Silent stalking of a predator
Stealthily following me determinedly-
The quietude of loneliness deafens me in crowded places,
Loneliness shadowing me on padded footsteps
Its shout rings hollow in my ears on deserted streets-
Amidst quiet sullen woods
Tall trees, silent spectres
Early morning sun just breaking distant horizon, alone-
In benumbing noisy crowds, heavy stillness of loneliness blunts my ears
Solitude of crowded places
Dense overwhelming oppression of empty space-
II
Grating cutting razors of giggles
Mirth and deep sadness
Colours in extreme
juxtaposition-
Contemplative moments of extreme inner agitation
Placidity without
Turmoil and turbidity within-
A lone bird perched capriciously on bare branches
Chirping stringently away
Alone indeed is miserable-
