Frederic Kwesi Great Agboletey
SCREAM
It emerged from hidden depths
Prolonged build up to it immense,
A tremendous outpouring of pent up emotions-
From burning soles of feet in flight
Trembling and rattling kneecaps
A tingling in aching mid ribs
That rose in jerky movements
Of harsh inhalations and spurts of misty exhalations
To flailing arms in discordant motion,
That concentration of acute pain somewhere
Between aching shoulder blades
Twisting and turning
Seeking relief in unfamiliar movements,
Feet in flight-
Building heat
Whole body awash in intense heat
Rising mist from melting ice,
Feathery intercession of heavenly mercy
Flooding tears
Rising currents of desperation
It was close, yet so far
Colours non-existent
Bursting glorioles
Lifting
Lilting motion on shaky grounds-
Then it burst forth,
A high whining cry
Building too a full throated deep growl
Flung to purged ground
Feathery bed strewn
From distant heaven
Angelic hosts looking down-
Powers beyond human endurance,
Who controls
Thumping fists pounding hardened ground,
Gripping, thrashing
Seeking relief, in motions unfamiliar,
Primeval shout working its way to fore
Harsh grating outburst
Relief in “extritus
dementalis”
Uninterrupted, and quickly over-
Then silence,
Wholesome descent of inconsequential
Sitting in feathery, pelting snow,
In some distant land-
