ODE TO REDEEMED LONELINESS

I love this embracing loneliness

Time and space, emptiness

Peace and quiet, silence

Solitude and calm, nature’s rhythm-

I can almost hear myself think

Brain’s mechanisms ticking so loud

Cells in creative multiplicity, connecting

In this cherished quietude-

I don't miss your world of disruptions

With its noisome pestilence

Haunting cries and shouts

Those tormented empty souls shrieking-

In one long uninterrupted howl

Intruding and shattering my sanity

Prolonged din of painful days

Tacking pounding of lingering headaches-

Listen to faint diminuendos

Of that most exquisite composition,

Whooshing drop of water, thirty feet down

Sploshing onto distant sidewalk-

My soul inhales,

Exhaling relief in a murmur gentle

Weariness slips easy

In this embracing solitude-

No harsh grappling hands, abrasive

Just gentle caress of emptiness,

No scratchy, patchy abrasive strokes of intemperate emotions

Reaching out uninvited and tearing inner man-

My inner man shredded by turbid emotional roiling

Delights in this silky caress of loneliness

This grand gradual escapes into self,

Real self finding definitive expression, in solitude-

In solemn gravity of portentous seriousness

Lost I'm I in deep thoughts

Benign shadow of fleeting memories

Relief in deep seepage of reflective considerations-

Awareness filtered by pleasant mind states, till

Every exquisite delight of it, relished and savoured

In pleasant quietude of loneliness

Redefines versions of sublime reality, unfolding-

I love being by myself and being myself-

To think idiosyncratically

To live in unsanctioned sanctimonious abandon

Uncensored and unconcerned

To be selfish and not feel guilty-

To stretch my full length

In languorous lassitude

To work without consideration

Unrestrained in gentle drive of mind-

Till expiated in sustained self

I collapse uncaring

In this freed loneliness, unrestrained-

That is why I indulge myself

In this pleasurable abandon of delivered self

Uncaring, unaware of turbulent other reality-
