Man is favoured

Man is favoured

Whose Master and Maker built a vineyard for him; this earth

He set a fence around it and planted it with choice vines

Then God gave it to Man to walk its length and breadth enjoy its nourishment

Discovering ever refined values embedded in worthy heritage given

O, that gracious master would return from His journey through His vast domain

Finding obedient children hard at work maintaining that which has been endowed to them

Thanking benevolent Father from open, truthful hearts,

Their gracious benefactor for good things given,

How each honourable heart filled with pride

At their honesty discharged from willing hearts –

Our tasks are no tasks

We have been given a garden of joy which we did not construct, and

Cannot construct set as it were within glorious heavens perfection realised

At our golden old age we are still like children gazing with awe

 At these great things our Father has given seemingly infinite expression

We never stand on our own who find sustenance in our God

Whose grace is a never ceasing outpouring of provisions for man-

Who is he who will defy omniscient God of Wonders?

Who will not open wide His mouth and from His spirit acknowledge life’s Source?
