Straws In Fast Flowing Streams
Crying for help
Clutching for straws in fast flowing streams
Through long dreary night,
Seemingly without a helper
Your Lord's, who created all, is always within arms reach
If only your faith would have stretched its arms beyond your despair and fear
Towards Source of life, believing that your hope is rewarded when you just trust and reach out
You would have reached out and been held by sturdy arms of true strength un yielding–
Yet gentle owner of all
Keeping His eyes on least of all his creatures
His children he would not leave to suffer dread
Seeing through darkness of treachery of empty deceit
He sent salvation’s ancient promised fulfilled
In Christ Jesus, man’s saviour–
Mankind, Your saviour has come,
Gentle shepherd heeding evening call of his flock
To lead home, to pleasant pastures of reassuring rest his obedient children,
Rebelliousness sustained is a folly that is piteous
Set against grand glory of Jehovah’s great love
His love encompasses works unlimited of his hands-
Eyes roaming amidst his works of grandiose wonder incomparable
His gaze is a light shed of life
Bringing succour to seemingly hidden recesses
For from where can anything hide from sight of Creation’s Lord and master?
Can depths of darkness be hidden from its creator?
To whose sight darkness is context of clarity thoroughly examined
Against illustrious background of light?-
